Bury The Bills

Worked on a pro bono activation in partnership with NYC Pride and Penguin Random House to combat the surge of anti-LGBTQ legislation being introduced across the U.S. During the NYC Pride Parade, “bill-boards” were installed that allowed attendees to scan a QR code and automatically send excerpts from queer literature to lawmakers via fax — a medium still actively used by many representatives. The activation generated over 3 million faxes, earned 214 million impressions with zero media spend, and prompted cease-and-desist letters from representatives in six states. Most importantly, 15 proposed anti-LGBTQ bills were ultimately buried, demonstrating the power of culture-driven activism to create real legislative impact.
